  • Lights, Camera, Color - Color Theory and Blender - Part 1

Today starts a short series on Color Theory and its relation to Blender 3D software. In part one I will review some of the basics of color theory and in particular subtractive color vs additive color and their particular color wheels. The next part will be on mixing color in Blender with a follow up on how to test materials and textures with colored lights to get the best results in renders.

  • Session 162 - Making a Bowl of Walnuts - Part 1

I need to add some interest to my scene so today I am starting to make a bowl of walnuts for my coffee table. I will start by modeling and texturing a single walnut. Next I will then make the bowl and then fill them with walnuts complete with a vintage nut cracker and maybe some broken shells to litter the table.

  • Session 161 - Improving My Vintage Sofa and Chairs

  • Humane Rigging DVD Review – OMG! My head hurts!

Nathan Vegdahl is most know for his work with the Blender Foundation projects like Big Buck Bunny and Sintel, and is often viewed as being a crazy, goofy, and fun guy. Quite frankly when I received my pre-ordered copy of the DVD last week I was prepared for a fun time and a connect this to that and add this modifer and so on. I was not prepared for what was in store for me!

  • Session 159 – Compositing and Analyzing a Shot File

Today I will examine the last frame of a test render of my opening shot file and take steps to improve it with compositing and looking for additional props and additions to make the shot work.
