Dreamhost was not working for me anymore and my poor site was getting slower and slower. I have recently moved to a Rackspace cloud server and the performance has been drastically improved! However there are some issues to resolve.
Nathan Vegdahl is most know for his work with the Blender Foundation projects like Big Buck Bunny and Sintel, and is often viewed as being a crazy, goofy, and fun guy. Quite frankly when I received my pre-ordered copy of the DVD last week I was prepared for a fun time and a connect this to that and add this modifer and so on. I was not prepared for what was in store for me!
Session 159 – Compositing and Analyzing a Shot File
Today I will examine the last frame of a test render of my opening shot file and take steps to improve it with compositing and looking for additional props and additions to make the shot work.
Since I am a sucker for new things I recently updated my OS to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS since it is in the Beta 2 stage and due for final release at the end of April 2012. I found that the ppa for Gimp 2.7.5 had damaged my older OS so I decided to try my hand at Compiling Gimp 2.8
I find that many new and even experienced modelers (myself included) will tend at times to make their models way too heavy. In this session I will discuss why less is sometimes more! Thanks to Wirlow for the use of his excellent model “HUGO” as an example.
